In this post, lets discuss some general terms used in web world. Many of us do not really know these terms, so we face difficulties when surfing web or starting a new website project. Today in focus "Alias Names" and "Auto Responder".

Term "Alias Names":

In web hosting, each and every name that points to another name is called alias of the original name. Alias names are mainly used to make the original name easier to remember + understand. For instance, I can use WT for WapkaTutor to make it easier to point. :)

Understand this with an example:

"Many poets use other name than original one in their poems, its called an alias name as well".

Term "Auto Responder":

When someone sends an email to your email address, an automatic program that can respond to the query sends a response back to the email sender automatically, is called "Auto Responder" utility or program, whatever best fits you. :)

Lets learn it with an example:

"Many website administrators configured auto responder program to send an email every time it receive an email message from users, it confirms that the system has successfully received email and awaiting moderation."

"Another example that I would like to share: in Gmail you can set auto respond messages if you are planning to go to vacations, whoever will send you email, will get to know you are on leave, thanks to "Auto Responder" utility."

We would regularly post these terms to help those wanted to be professional web developers or even those who are just starting up. Comment below if you still can not understand the terms, we would look into explain bit more to you. :)

In this tutorial, I will explain FileZilla FTP client, its usages and its features. After this tutorial you will be able to add/upload/update files on your website with FTP client.
FileZilla FTP client is choices of almost everyone (including me) in the field of web development. Its because it has many featurs, easy to understand and use and big thing is that its fastest among all FTP clients out there online. You can upload files to your web server easily, smoothly and efficiently with FileZilla FTP client.

Lets go forward in this tutorial, and do basic installation of this client.

First step is to download the FileZilla Client, you can download from homepage of FileZilla https://wiki.filezilla-project.org/ (Download the "FileZilla Client" installer version)

Now run the installer exe file on windows.

Accept the user agreement.

Set if you wanted to allow any user on this computer to run this program or you only.

In next step, choosing components may vary. Here I would go with default and will also mark the desktop icon check-box. (so that, it create desktop icon as well for me.)

Set install location to install FileZilla to.

Set start menu position of FileZilla (you can safely click next here).

Setups started, if all goes well, you will see finish step at the end or if any error occurred you will have to start it again after resolving the error.

Now that we have installed FileZilla, lets use it to upload our files to web server. Please see the following picture for UI reference.

Run FileZilla by double clicking FileZilla icon at desktop.

Now, you need three account details about you web server FTP account.

You will need "Hostname:". Usually its url to your FTP server.

"Username:" of your FTP account created in Cpanel.

"Password:" of your FTP account created in Cpanel.

Enter your details as in the following picture

.

If your account details is correct you will see list of your files and folders saved in your web server in the 5th panel (see picture above).

To upload files, you can simply use 4th panel. Navigate to the file which you wanted to upload and double click the file to upload. You can also upload several files at once.

To download file from web server, simply navigate to file in 5th panel and double click the file to download.

You can see status of your file upload and download at the bottom 6th panel. Simultaneously, you can upload and download two files at once but process foes on untill you download all of them.

The 3rd panel is simply log of commands that you are issuing. Actually, it will help you get the error that you might expect. It will let you know what is wrong and also which command caused the error.

So, now you know what is FTP client and how to install it and use it to upload/download files from web server. Lets look at this client features to better understand what it can do for us.

It allows file transfer between web server and your PC.

It is fast.

It can save many sites account in site manager to quickly access them.

It has best of all log panel (see panel 3).

Features pausing and resuming in transfer.

Easy to use, lightweight.

So, download it now and start transferring files easily and securely. Now this tutorial helped you to understand, install, run, use FileZilla FTP client.

Please note that, you should create FTP account in Cpanel by navigating to FTP accounts page. You will be able to set password, username. :)

Have you used wapka app for android phones and tablets to promote your wapka website in app markets? Is it worth the cost? Read more on this topic to get some interesting tips and tricks on promotion of this app + how to get this app.
Today, though its not kind of a tutorial but its about wapka app for android phones and tablets for your lovely website. Do you know, you can download app and use it on your android finger tips to surf your website content? You will need android smart-phone for this though. :) The plus point here is that you can upload your android app on Google Play or other markets! Pretty nice. :)

You can get wapka app by logging into wapka account then going to your site management (whichever you would like to create app for) and clicking the app named as "Android APP". But wait.... You need to write name for app (which can not be changed in future). After clicking submit button you will see app created at the bottom of the page for you.

You will have two options at the bottom after creating app.
1. A download link
2. Test link to test app. You can goto this link to test your app before promoting.

I tried both and instead of showing app I could see the message "If you see this page, the package of App will be generated in 10 seconds. Please refresh after 10 seconds." only. If refreshed, I did not see anything. :( But scenario could be different for you. (Might be download able and testable via android phone)

If you succeeded to test app, you will find that a default content manager menu will show up where users can surf and download files. Why default?? Why we could not change its themes or styles or even add some messages and more. This app needs to be updated with all such features.

If you have tested this app, do post your review over it. In my case its not working though I have android tab too. :( Never the less, its great addition in wapka to promote in android markets. :)
If you are wondering why we have shifted our tutorials to a new location, then for your answer I can simply say that, in Blogger it was not possible to maintain any coding gurus or simply it was not possible to create dynamic content in blogger due to non support of any programming language, therefore we are writing tutorial on other location. I am pretty sure that you are loving that place due to its simplicity and fast access.
Hi, you might have noticed that me [AHMED HABIB] taken quite of few breaks in writing daily tutorials. I should be writing regularly, in this post I have explained why these breaks and I hope these will be overcome in future. :)
Many many of you wonder why Ahmed take so many breaks in between adding tutorials, here are some of the reasons why I take breaks to write tutorials.

I have many other projects as well, running live on different servers. I need to manage those all as well. It is quite a hard work and therefor needs time.

I was planning to add video tutorial series in wapkatutor, all went wrong when I wanted to upload video of about 30 minutes and 100MB of size, no online tubes helped the cause. After 29% uploading gets stopped and I have to try to upload it again and again yet without success. So, I have decided to write then to speak. :)

Often, I draft the tutorial and then publish it next day after mandatory edits and corrections.

Few grabbers try to copy and paste all the hard word done by me to write tutorials into their site without any backlink or without any permission. This is not good and I will not tolerate this. It hurts my ambitions.

These are few of those reasons i take break of 1-3 days time. It might not help your cause but it is required and I can not place me out of this.

So, you are requested to bear with me and enjoy the tutorials when it has been posted. My tutorials are easy to understand and also briefly on topics. You will love my tutorial (though not regularly posted). You can also request for tutorials and I will be happy to write one for you. I have plenty of requests already and each and evey requests is added on its merits/number.

Please do let me know what you think about my articles and also help to find sites who use my hardwork as own content.
Hi, in this tutorial, I will explain
PHP Language and we will create first site in PHP using free PHP host. We will use this host for future PHP tutorials..Lets start learning PHP with our simple PHP tutorials.

in this tutorial, I will teach you to add text, links, pictures and many other stuff visible to logged or non-logged users in wapka. So, if user is logged-in He/She will see welcome user and if he is not logged, will see register and login links.
This tutorial is aimed to teach newbies the function of registration in
wapka. So, after this tutorial newbies will be able to hide links and more from non-logged users and also non-logged users can only see stuff/content for them.

Let me explain it with an example. You wanted to show login, register links with "Welcome to the site Guest" to non-legged user but not to logged ones. Similarly, you wanted to show the text "Welcome back UserName" with logout and profile link to the logged user but not to the non-logged user in
wapka.

If example fits your need then you are at right place for the tutorial to do something similar to the example in
wapka. Let do it in minutes. :)

Follow the following steps.

Login to your free wapka account.

In
wapka passport page, click on SiteURL under "Site List" where you wanna add this functionality.

Now in next page, click "Admin Mode" and goto admin mode of your site.

Create New Page via ES > New Page > Name it "User Test" > click submit button at the end of form to add the page.

Open the created page in step 4, and add do the following steps in this
wapka
page.

Goto ES > WML/XHTML code > do the following steps on the displayed form.

In first textbox, add the following code.
Welcome Guest, Login or Create Account

Display this code in: leave it as it is.

Align: set its alignment, I prefer to set right.

Display after submit: Leave it as it is

Place WML code in front of: Select position of the code from already added items.

WAP2 style class: Whatever CSS class you wanna use.

Join this item with previous: If its checked,
tags outside of item will be removed.

Item will be visible for: Now in this option select Non-logged users.

Click submit to add the text and links.

Goto ES > WML/XHTML code > do the steps 5.1.1 to 5.1.9 but in step 5.1.1 we have added the text and links for the non-logged users, now this time we will add text and links for the logged user. in step 5.1.1 instead of that text add this one.
Welcome user, LogOut | Profile

Thats it, we have added the text for logged and non-logged users.

Now, after this tutorial newbies in
wapka should be able to write/add different text and items for logged and non-logged users with ease and power. :)

Wapka has been updated once again, and this wapka has update passport page. :) Last day, we were talking about improvements in wapka passport page, I had suggested to move developers forum to the wapka passport page, and here you go within one day of suggestion it has been done and now you can see developers forum and also private message system has been moved to main page of wapka passport.

Along with this update, wapka has also disabled the reward program in developers forum. This was used to reward someone wapka MBs if you liked his/her answer to your question. It was bit miss used. So, wapka has finally disabled it..
In this descriptive tutorial I will try to explain each and every thing about new wapka passport system. It is quite manageable and quite easy sytem but it helped a lot in wapka cause. Lets learn it.
Wapka passport system is quite simple to understand but for old users like me its very new and I think very useful too. :) When you visit wapka.com and in main page you see new login box with the new wapka passport title. This is wapka passport login system. after login to this system you will see quite of few links and info on next page, here I have listed all of these.

Under "User System", you can find info about your last login date and time and IP of last login plus few links including profile, access logs and logout. Profile will show your profile and access logs can be clicked to see the log file for your account access. It can help you to get info about wrong login attempts. Logout link will of-course will log you out from wapka system. :)

Under "Security", you can find four options for now.

Login Security will help you to set some tight rules for login, so any hacker could not hack your site.

Email Manager helps you to set your email address for you wapka account.. You can also add reserve email addresses as well.

Modify Password link helps you to change password for your account.

Password Security, helps to set some optional security questions for your account, in case you forget your password, you can retrieve via simple answer to saved question.

Site List, has what you really wanna get inside. :) It contains all your sites under your account, you can bind existing ones, and also can create new ones. You can find links to do so under "site list".

Multiple Languages is one of the feature that I don;t understand. You knew that google API is best for this and also updated regularly, so why not to go with that one but wapka has every rights to do so. This system allows you to contribute in up-coming wapka multi language site and print your name at the end of the site which have been translated by you.

Thus, the new wapka passport system interface is quite well manged than before, the main reason am saying this is one email for all of your sites. Yes, you can have 10s of sites with inly one email address before it was not possible.

Although, there are many improvements required in this system, like Forum should be now included in this page and also wapka support needs some bits and bites.. :)

Let's hope for the best. See you soon with new tutorial next time.

see ya.
Here I am again today with second tutorial or you can call it gossip about the two tools wapka have for now. Yeah, am taking about Wapka File Manager and Wapka Content Manager. Lets differentiate between both of these point by point.

Wapka has two systems for file management, ne is wapka file manager and the other one is wapka content manager. Both of these are useful. Also they have advantages and disadvantages. Some of newbies just don't understand it quite well. Here I am explaining both but with point by point differences. Both of these have these differences.

Content Manager has o limit on how much you can upload and how much you can save in your wapka site. File manager in this sense has limits and for newbies it have 200mb limit at first.

You can upload allowed files in content manager system. I mean, you can only upload files whose extension will match the wapka allowed extension. For instance, you can not upload .css, .js files etc :) File manager allows you to upload any type of file with any extension.

Content Manager has categorized form of directories in which you can upload files, but in file manager you first need to create folders then you can upload files for different directories.

Both of these tools have common dis-advantages. Both of these tools have dynamic links to the file so no permanent link is allowed. Therefore you can not add css files to wapka file manager and can not add js files for javascript. Thats the biggest drawback.

Content manager has many many tools which allows you to upload files in bulk, file manager does not have one. For example, you can collect 100 pictures render them to a .rar file and then upload it via content manager and all of your 100 files will be uploaded.

Content manager has own set of codes/tags and file manager has own set of these tags and codes. I personally prefer file manager codes but also like the content manager codes, with new updates content manager has been so much good than before.

So, both of these systems have advantages and dis-advantages. I personally prefer the content manager, fue to its unlimited nature. :D Well, it all depends on our site structure. If you have the download site, you should go for content manager but if you have forum type site, then all this stuff is not required. You don't even need any free space at all.

So, what you will prefer? Let us know. Thanks for reading this tutorial.
In this tutorial, we are going to add free email sender tool (or whatever you call it) to our wapka site. It will allow your users to send free emails right from your wapka site with your own email address and much much more features. Lets do it.

First I should explain what we are going to do and what will be the benefits of this. At starting, lets talk about the Free Email sender API that I am using for this tutorial.

The free email sender API is the tool created by external site owner to allow users to add forms to their sites and send free emails to anyone, and on anytime of the day. The API is free of cost and will never be charged. Some of the features of this API are as following..

You will have to add simple form to your site and all the hasske if coding will be done by the API owner website.

Your users will feel that they are using the tool in your own site. I mean fully white labeled API.

If someone sending pranks emails or any other such cases, users will be able to ban that user from sending them emails. It can't bee reversed for now though.

Many many such other features have been introduced.

Now lets begin our tutorial and add this wonderful Free Email Sender API to our wapka sites.

Login to your free wapka account. (There is new passport feature in wapka, use that for login.)

Now click on site link at the bottom under [Site List], if you have not created then create new site as per need.

you will see the main page of wapka with links to admin mode and others. Just click on "admin mode" to goto admin mode to add this free email sender API.

Now we will create new page for this email sender API. Click :: EDIT SITE (#) :: > New page

New Page with page creation form will be displayed, name this page as FREE EMAIL SENDER, click submit button to add the page or in other words create the page.

Now click on created page link, we just created in step 5.

Now Click :: EDIT SITE (#) :: > Text and new text in our new created page. In text write the following text. and after that click submit button to add this.
Sorry, could not send email. There was an error. Please try again.

Now add another text following step 7, but this time write th following text
Thank you, email sent successfully...

Now click :: EDIT SITE (#) :: > Users > Items visibility > now click g c t l p u against the created text in step 7 > click URL GET variable > in displayed form set the following values and after that click the submit button to set the item visibility on variables.
Display item if URL : GET
variable: : get-res
is : [=] is equal
than value: error

Again follow the step 9, but this time do following. Click
g c t l p u against the text we created in step 8
> click URL GET variable > in displayed form set the following values and after that click the submit button to set the item visibility on variables.
Display item if URL : GET
variable: : get-res
is : [=] is equal
than value: sent

At this moment we have created the base page for our Free Email Sender tool. Now in the following part we will get our free email sender API form and key from wap-server.com. Lets do it.

Goto wap-server.com

Create your free account, http://wap-server.com/register.html. It will take 2 min to create your account.

Login to your free account at wap-server.com

After login goto View Cpanel > Developers > Free Email Sender API > There you will find some info and a form to create your API. Lets fill out the form.

First field is email to use, in this email provide the email that will be used to send emails from, for example, user A send email then in the header of email your email will be displayed as the host email or Sender through email.

Next field is Error URL, in this field you will have to provide the error url of your site to let the user know that email is not sent. We have created this error url in PART 1-Step 7. So we will just right in the field, here is an example.
http://XXXXX.wapka.mobi/site_YYY.xhtml?get-res=error
Now change XXXXX with your own wapka site name, YYY with the site id where you have added the text in 7,8 steps of part 1 above.

Next field is similar to the above but in this field you will have to write th success URL, so users get to know that email has been sent. Here is the URL to write in this field.
http://XXXXX.wapka.mobi/site_YYY.xhtml?get-res=sent
Now change XXXXX with your own wapka site name, YYY with the site id where you have added the text in 7,8 steps of part 1 above.

Click the activate button, and if every things goes right, you will have to activate your mail address by verification.

After that you will be able to verified the email, you will see the page where you will find code to add in your site, its HTML code and easy to add, in this code you will see API keys and many other things, please remember those for better experience.

Now we have got the codes to add in our site, we will goto wapka page where we have added texts in part 1 step 7 and 8. we will add another code via :: EDIT SITE (#) :: > WML/XHTML code > in the textarea field write the code we just got in step 5 of this part. Click submit button to add the code.

Thats it. We have successfully added the script and now our users can send free emails, right from our sites.

You should test it for better performance and try try and you succeed. :) Here is a DEMO page created by wap-server.com team. You can also try this here for better understanding http://mobile.wap-server.com/waptools/emailsender.
Hie there, its so long to see you, hope all of you are fine and enjoying the crunches of life.. Well I was busy with my other projects, so could not give time to this project and therefor couldn't add new tutorials to existing ones. In this first tutorial, after so many days break time, I will explain little bit about the new features wapka have added and we will in our further tutorials work on it in details.
Wapka has been updated several times and new and nice features have been introduced since April. Here are all of them with some or perhaps small descriptions about them respectively. :)

On 11th April 2013, Removed "Click here to continue" plus two more additional updates made. Sometimes users see the click here to continue button in there sites if the content is not loaded successfully, now it has been fixed. Also issues with online counter and other were also optimized.

On 18th, April 2013. MP# tags edit function was added. So, with this function you can upload MP3 tag and edit its tags as you like.

On 19th April, backup system was re-added and now backup system is doing backups for automatic 7 days. Thats great but before it was 1 day.

On 10th May, few tweaks were made t the system. Like Unlogin link was removed and MP3 album edit option was added to Content Manager. Few other tweaks was made too.

One hacker uploaded the file to the wapka server and GoDaddy in response de-activated the wapka domain.. :) It all happend on 11th-13th of May 2013. So, wapka.mobi was not available foe two days. But you was able to visit via wapka.me domain.

On 14th May 2013, wapkafiles.com and wapka.mobi got online. It was nightmare for wapka time, I can understand this.

On 16th May, Access Logs released in Passport system of wapka. It let you know when and who logged into your accout what was his purpose, used browsers and so on.. ut now on you won't see wrong passwords used to login..

22nd May, wapka optimized the bottom advertisement to make sites load faster than before. I think they have added the cache system to cache the files and display it normaly.

On 29th May, wapka said that its Content Manager URLs has been improved, no further details were announced. There for I could not explain what wapka had done with the URLs. They might have change it fr better SEO.

On 6th june, building tools were released. This function help newbies to create site instantly.

Touch version for wapka was released on 7th june 2013.

Wapka announced wapka.com as its main domain or in other words primary domain. Changed its logo as well.

19th june, wapka released HELP document for better understanding of wapka.. So for now you see only few subjects, more will be added.. [I thought, I now should shut my blog!!! lol :)]

20th june, option to select your primary or secondary domain was added.

21st june 2013, wapka announced the language system, where users can contribute to and help wapka to change language versions, I think wapka should have thought of getting help from google api, it would have saved a lot of time and also a lot of users time. On the same day, wapka added site templates for newbies, you will be able to create sites with site templates. It is only avialbe for new sites.

2nd of this month, wapka has added new tag in content manager, which is ":search-[content_type]:" it will allow users to add search option in content manager to search the files within the category. I will exlain it definitely.

On 4th july, Content Manager unified searching page was added for newbies out there to create searching page easier than the keys or wapka tags.

9th July 2013, a major update was made to wapka content manager, now you can use GET/POST methods to utilize the content manager pages. Thats quite interesting, I will explain it. Few more language were added to the wapka language for users to edit.

A tag list-content_type has been updaetd in wapka on 10th july 2013.

These are all the updates since I left you, few bugs and more servers were also added to the wapka system. In near future I will explain all new and existing functions briefly and in innovative way...

This concludes my first tutorial and I will keep on posting new ones regularly, stay tuned to wapkatutor. You can contact us via comment and facebook page for any further help.

Are you ready, let built our category pageto show all categories we created in part 3 in Images section of content manager.

Click ::Edit Site:: link at the bottom

Click "New Page" link

Write Site Name in first text box as Images.

Click Submit Button.

Do these steps two time and create the second page for displaying images stored in category.

Now open the page we created in step 3.4

Click the ::Edit Site:: link

Click WML/xHTML code link

add the following code and click submit button.

:list-category-image: ::

%name% [%total%]

:: :/list-category-image:

Now You should change following in above code
1. Change ID with the second page ID [Step 3.5] where we will show the category images.

Now open the page, we created in step 3.5.

Download %title%

Size: %filesize%;

:: :/list-image:

:paging: n=:geti-page(1):,u=site_:getid-site:.%ext%?get-cid=:geti-cid(0):&get-page=%n% :: %prev%-%n%-%n%-%n%-%next% :/paging:
Now You should change following in above code
In this tutorial, we will cover images section in content manager of wapka. We will cover images category page, how to upload images, how one can create categories in content manager. Also we will discuss any related tools like removing directory from content manager. Lets learn content manager in wapka.

If you have not read our previous tutorials about Content Manager in wapka, please take a look on those tutorials. After reading previous tutorials on this series head back to this page and start learning.

Previous Tutorials in Content Manager series:
Part 1: http://wapkatutor.blogspot.com/2013/03/introduction-content-manager-in-wapka.html
Part 2: http://wapkatutor.blogspot.com/2013/03/2nd-part-understanding-content-manager.html

You can upload images of any type in your conten manager, can create new categories and can do several more actions as you require or need. Lets get into this tutorial without wasting so much of time.

Login to your free wapka account.

Goto "Admin Mode"

Click ::Edit Site:: link and goto Content Manager.

In Content Manager, click Image link under description. [To learn more about these links please see 2nd part of this tutorial series.]

The very first thing you need to do is to create a directory in your images category. Do following steps to create directory easily in content manager in image section.

Click "Create new Category" link

You will see a description and little form with submit button and text box. Write category name in the text field and click submit button. You can write any name for your category, like Flowers, nature and such others as per your need.

After this you will be automatically redirected to the created category page. As I created "islamic" named category, I could see this "«ROOT » Image » Islamic (cid:XXXXX)" in my page. You will see other name then islamic and instead of XXXXX you will see category ID, which is your category ID for the current category.

Now you are on category page where you have created the new category in step 5.3 above. In this step we will upload some images to our new created category.

Find button "Upload Image" and click it.

At the top of the next page you will find some rules, that you should follow to be able to use wapka free content manager. Under these rules you will find a form to upload file. Simply select new file from your phone and/or PC and click "Upload New File" Button. [TIP] If you want that system should not detect duplicate files, you can uncheck the checkbox under this form stating "check duplicate".

In the next displayed page you can view picture and change its name, add description, can select image kind or in other words you can do some tweaking about the picture that we uploaded. After tweaking click "Submit" button at the end.

We have uploaded the image. Next page that is displayed is just preview of what you added. :)

In this part we will add new image to our new created category {Create in step 5.2}.

Where we were at step 6.4 click the category name link that we created in step 5.2 from the navigation at the top. In my case it is "Islamic". Now you should see the same page as we saw on step 5.3.

Now to upload new image follow the steps in step 6 above as many time as you wanted to upload new images. For further help, you can comment and we will like to help.

You can always click "Image" link after "ROOT" to goto the main page and click the "Create New Directory" link to create new directory. You can follow step 5 for this purpose.

Click any directory in images and you can Delete, Rename, Move and also can create sub categories. It all depends on your site needs.

This is it for this part. We will cover how you can add the added images to your site for users to download these images with both Deployment Tools and Guide Lines in next tutorial.

In this tutorial, you learned to create categories, add images to the categories, add sub categories, adding images to sub categories. Moving, Renaming, Deleting categories. We will also cover Renaming, Deleting, Moving categories and/or files in any other tutorial.

There was a problem, when you upload large files in your content manager you could end up on error. Now as the notification stated this problem is fixed and you should upload files under 100MB of size. The great news is that you can upload unlimited number of files. Unlike file manager limit, there is no limit on content manager. You can even upload 50GB data. Only limit is 100MB for every file you upload for now.
Hi, wapka has been updated. And in new update, added virus detection service in content manager uploads. This is to make sure no viruses could be installed on your sites. How this work? Lets get into it.

The new Virus detection feature in wapka content manager benefits all of you. It will stop any virus uploading. Basically, it will secure wapka system from viruses but you will be secure as well..

When you will upload new file in any content type in content manager, your file wil be scanned and if it contains viruses it will not be uploaded and you will get the message that this file can not be uploaded or similar.

So, it will add extra security to your site. You can display Virus Free logo at your site/pages to let users know, your content is virus free. We will write tutorial on this feature, for this stay tuned.

I think, wapka is moving to content manager from file manager. It is not official that file manager will be removed. but I think File Manager will only be used to upload any other formats that wapka content manager does not support.
